Cruise American then suggested that one of the clerks at the store go to an auto-parts store and buy a can of freon to pump into the AC for a quick fix. The young man refused because he was not a mechanic and knew nothing about AC to fix it. They then suggested that we drive 5 hours in the opposite direction of where we were going to get another after completely giving us the run around.
All I can say about this company is that we were only able to reserve an RV here. When we went to pick it up the day we were leaving for vacation, we started it to find that it had no AC. The people at the little bait shop where the RVs were rented were nice, but when we contacted Cruise America, they did not believe us or the store that there were numerous problems with the only RV they had left. We had to call 4 times and wait 3 hours in our car on a very hot day. They were incredibly rude and did not even want to find us a new RV.
Our original plan for renting an RV was to make my mother comfortable. She has been battling breast cancer and we wanted to take her on a pleasant vacation. We thought the RV would be a great way for her to relax and enjoy the trip without being cramped in a car for 14 hours. Instead, we had to rush and find a rent-a-car. My mother was truly disappointed and I felt horrible for letting her down.
I could go on about more problems, but rent at your own risk!!! These people are inconsiderate and have terrible customer service. GO TO A REAL RV DEALER, DON'T LET THEM RUIN YOUR VACATION!
