Awesome gem in the middle of town. Beautifully restored property. It is the Sheriff's Residence, so in addition to get a peek into the residence of the era, you get to see the actual jail cells! Charles Manson once stayed in this jail.
Anyone even remotely interested in history should DEFINITELY stop by.
We took the kids (8 and 12) and they were really into it.
It is run off donations and does not charge admission. Definitely think people should make the effort to visit! The woman working was the perfect attendant. She was informative and kind. She also made us feel comfortable to meander through each room.
Been here on Thursday and Saturday and closed both times. Hours say open 10 until 5. Why have it if it's not going to be opened.
